Leadership

Our Pastors

At Jackson Creek, we hold to the New Testament model of a plurality of leadership. The pastors work together in unity as coequals to lead as Christ has called them.
We believe this model of leadership protects the church from having one dominating voice and allows the church to grow and move as God’s Spirit leads.

Mike Shepherd

Teaching Pastor

Pastor Mike and his wife, Susan, have been married for over 28 years and are thankful to be serving together in ministry. Mike is a bi-vocational pastor who works to make a living and lives to work for God. Sue is a stay-at-home mom who loves to share her faith and encourage the people around her. They have been blessed with four sons, Joseph, Wesley, Matthew and Christian and one daughter, Brooke.

Mike and Sue have been used by God to plant two churches, Standing Stones Church (2000) in Tinley Park, IL and Jackson Creek Fellowship Church (2012) in Manhattan, IL. They feel burdened to win souls and develop devoted disciples of our Lord. Mike truly loves connecting the truth of scripture through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.
Together, Mike and Sue are excited about what God is doing in this ministry and how He is impacting people’s lives in their community. They believe that God will build His church. They are excited about what the future holds as they faithfully follow and trust God’s leading.

Clint Ifland

Family Pastor

Clint attended Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin, where he met his wife Autumn. He graduated in 2008 with a Bible degree focused on youth ministries, and she graduated with a degree in marketing management. They married in 2009, and now have 4 children; Lilyana, Greyson, Easton, and Colette.

Being involved in a local church has always been a priority for the Ifland family. In 2013, when the church plant in Kankakee they were involved in closed, they started looking for a new church to serve in. They felt called to join Green Garden Baptist Church, which is now Jackson Creek Fellowship, and soon started serving in the worship team, kids ministry, and as a deacon. Clint was passionate about discipling teenagers and families and helping them grow in their relationship with Christ. It was his desire since graduating to be ordained in the church where he was serving. In 2018, Clint was officially hired on staff full-time at Jackson Creek, and in 2021, he was ordained as a pastor; his desire becoming reality. He currently leads the student, growth group, food pantry, and discipleship ministries. Autumn assists Clint with leading the students and also serves in the music ministry and outreach ministry.
